Volunteer cyclists from Mediaocean successfully complete an arduous ride from London to Dusseldorf to raise money for Construction Youth Trust

In June 2017, staff at Mediaocean London concocted a plan to cycle from their London to Dusseldorf offices, in order to raise sponsorship funds for Construction Youth Trust.

Volunteers were sought and an Anglo/German team of 8 riders was assembled to tackle the challenge, made even harder as each member of the team was expected to carry their own kit, clothing and spares to fix any mechanical issues en route.

After months of planning and preparation, the team rolled away from the Blue Fin building at 8:00am on Friday 23rd June cycling 385 miles over 4 days and across 5 countries. The final day saw the boys eat breakfast in Belgium, lunch in Holland and dinner in Germany. Shortly before 6:00pm on Monday 26th June, the Mediaocean cycling team of Christian Maschke, Craig Heron, Godwin Joseph, Lenny Oseni, Michael Sugrue, Paul Mahon, Thomas Kluth and Todd Rankin successfully completed their epic journey by arriving safely and together at the Mediaocean office in Dusseldorf. In completing their incredible feat they raised £2,265.63 for Construction Youth Trust and celebrated into the night in Dusseldorf old town.

As a collective voice, the group said “We had a fantastic time and finishing the challenge gave us all an incredible sense of satisfaction. The trip provided us with great memories and fostered a real team spirit and camaraderie amongst the group, something we will never forget. The sense of satisfaction was enhanced knowing that we had raised money for a great charity, Construction Youth Trust, and we hope that our donation helps the charity continue its fantastic work in building many future success stories.”
