We are supporting the curriculum at TBAP Beachcroft AP Academy with our Level 1 Health & Safety and CSCS card course, helping them gain qualifications vital to a construction workplace.
The academy is a primary and secondary alternative provision academy situated in Westminster which supports young people who have faced challenges learning in mainstream school settings. The construction industry has fantastic pathways available for young people who feel uninspired by traditional further education routes into a career. On the course, young people interested in construction careers build the necessary skills they need to attain rewarding opportunities within the sector.
Participants on the course also had the opportunity to attend a Finding and Applying for Apprenticeships session followed by an industry Q&A, supported by professional volunteers from Bouygues and Lee Morley there to share their own experiences. In the session, participants discovered more about the apprenticeship route and how it works, widening their career horizons by showing them the variety of routes available to them.
At the Trust, we know that traditional classroom environments are not suited to everyone, and we are committed to supporting young people facing the biggest barriers to employment into the working world. Through the Level 1 course and apprenticeship session, we empowered these TBAP students with new skills and knowledge to help them take their next steps with confidence.
