Our team are working in both North and South Wales providing mentoring support and work placements to young people aged 16-18 years with a background of offending or being in care. The programme offers:
Charity Llamau is heading up the project using funding from the Getting Ahead programme, a non-lottery funded programme which is being delivered by the BIG fund. We are working with CBSA (Wales), Sova, and Gisda to deliver the project and have coordinators working in North and South Wales.
The aim of the project is to provide 400 young people aged 16-18 with mentoring support and work experience opportunities to help them gain the skills needed for sustained employment.
The Trust is working with employers across Wales to provide young people with 6-month work experience opportunities in construction. The programme coordinators are on-hand to support the employers and young people through the placements agreeing a work-based development plan, and support progress. The young people who complete their placements will receive an Open College Network level 1 award as well as real work experience, new skills, and increased confidence.
Our courses are accredited by Open College Network London
