The virtual sessions have been supported remotely by construction and built environment professionals in a variety of roles, to inspire our young people about the huge range of exciting careers available in the sector – from Engineers to Social Value Managers!
The sessions kicked off with our Finding & Applying for Apprenticeships and Apprenticeships Q&A sessions, a duo of fantastic resources through which young people discover more about alternative pathways to careers. After their Christmas break, students will begin the New Year with a Careers Networking event, during which they will have the opportunity to quiz a range of industry volunteers on their career journeys and the ins and outs of their construction roles. Hearing directly from relatable role models that have ‘been there, done that’ is a really invaluable experience for young people who are feeling unsure of their next steps.
The final sessions in January 2021 will focus on building students’ employability skills. In our CV Masterclass, Cover Letters, Interview Skills and Applications Masterclass sessions, students hone skills that will help them impress employers and stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs and other opportunities.
