Our Budding Brunels have hit the ground running ready for the first school term!

Budding Brunels is a three day immersive employer-led course, aimed at engaging students in years 12 and 13 who are interested in finding out more about professional careers in the construction and built environment sector.

Already this term, we have partnered with TFL, Argent and Canary Wharf Contractors to give our Budding Brunels an insight into the industry and we are looking forward to partnering with Sir Robert McAlpine and Lendlease later this month.

The Budding Brunels course is interactive. As well as learning about the industry on-the-ground through live site tours, students participate in ‘Meet the Employer’ sessions which are a chance for industry networking, and employability activities to develop their interview skills. Throughout the three day period, students also form their own mock contractor companies and create pitches for a current live development, which are delivered to a panel of real industry professionals on the last day.

The course is a great opportunity for students to get a holistic idea of the sector and experience a variety of different industry roles; from project manager to surveyor.

For students that particularly impress with their interest and passion, there is also the opportunity to secure a work placement with one of our industry partners, to further extend their knowledge and experience of professional careers in industry.

"I would like to thank you for the wonderful experience I’ve had during the Budding Brunels program as I discovered other possible career options!"

Budding Brunels is a fantastic opportunity to connect young people who have a real passion and flair for the industry with top industry employers. As the school year progresses, we can’t wait to continue working with the students, inspiring and enabling them to begin a career in construction.
